It’s all quiet at both Bath and Norwich! The adults are still around and if you are watching the webcams you will realise that they do on occasion visit the nest platforms. Visitors to either building will probably be lucky enough to see one of the birds flying, or roosting somewhere on the building. It would be expected at this stage in the season for this year’s young to have moved on and be beginning to learn to live on their own, before the winter weather causes them to move even further afield as they find food in new areas, and by doing so they start to explore a wider area, learning where the good hunting and roosting locations are, and even where potential nesting sites are as they grow over the next couple of years.
As the adults loosely stay together through the year we will continue to see activity around the nest sites, although harsh weather may cause them to temporarily move further away in their hunt for food.
