Better Performance for Tablets & Smartphones

Urban Peregrine Projects Web Site Goes Fully ‘Responsive’

It’s been 12 months since the dedicated UPP went live.

The initial design of the web site was aimed primarily at PC & laptop users and had limited ‘Responsive*’ capabilities. With sales of handheld devices – smartphones & tablets – starting to outstrip that of desktop machines it became clear that a rethink was in order.

Hawk and Owl Trust visitors will inevitably mirror national trends and many of you view the site content on tablets and check in on smartphones when you’re on the move. Hence the introduction today of UPP Mk2 using a fully Responsive layout that works well on any size of screen.

The Responsive layout will be particularly relevant for smartphone users as the menu system has been greatly improved.

Tip | If the web site looks like a shrunken version of the desktop layout on your smartphone scroll to the foot of any page and click the ‘View Mobile Site’ link.

*Responsive Web design (RWD) is a Web design approach aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling—across a wide range of devices (from mobile phones to desktop computer monitors).
